2024 Playoff Formatting & Standard of play

Reminder of playoffs specifics starting tonight in the 7pm game until the conclusion of the playoffs on Aug 8th (if needed).

ID Checks - Pre-Game:
All Players are required to show 1 piece of Photo ID before the end of warmup. Photo of ID is APPROVED as long as ID is current. They can come by the penalty box during the game before to show the scorekeeper. Ideally they show the scorekeeper but in the event the scorekeeper is busy, they can show a ref and or league manager.  Failure to show ID the player will be deemed illegal and cannot play prior to the end of warmup. Scorekeepers are to CHECK off verified players on the gamesheet. 

If a team is caught playing with an illegal player: 
1. The players points will be removed from the game record resulting in a loss of goals and or assists but penalties will remain; in the case of any major, match or gross penalties are assessed to the player in question. (EXAMPLE: Player #5 has Two Goals and 2 Assists but is found to be illegal = The goals and assists will be removed, resulting in a loss of 2 goals on the game sheet and score). 
2. The team will receive a 5Minute major for Illegal Player.
3. Team Captain will be suspended determined by management. The player in question will be suspended indefinitely. 

Game formatting:
5m - Warmup
17m - 1st Half
1m - Goalie / Break first whistle after 9minute mark
1m - Intermission - Times by scorekeeper
17m - 2nd Half
1m - Goalie / Break first whistle after 9minute mark
10m - Overtime(s) - (AS NEEDED)

OVERTIME:
10minute periods as needed. Winner must score.
- 4 on 4 entirely. 
- Referees are REQUIRED to be in position at the net to make sure 1000% they have a good goal. 

In the event we run late (as expected) payroll will be pro-rated in 15m increments for staff. 

Run time Reminder: 
6 goal differential - Run at loosing teams request
8 goal differential - Automatic Run time

If games are running late and teams are being dumb. Management can override and Run the clock or end a game at current score or result.                                       ************ Do not let us get to this level of stupidity. 

Standard of play: 
We do not want us to allow stupid or aggressive play. Please continue to call penalties of illegal play especially on dangerous plays or scoring plays. Just because its playoffs doesn't mean we stop calling penalties. I'd like to keep pour standard tight especially early in the game. Late in a close game, referees judgement. Speed and skills rewarded and illegal plays should be penalized.  ** If you unsure use your partner and management can be used in the event of game deciding situation. 

I want emphasize the ability to EJECT (problematic player) player that are being dumb without penalizing the team for individualizes players behavior. If players are being dumb,  give them a SINGLE warning that penalties or removal could be coming next. Allow them to correct their behavior if they continue their stupidity EJECT them ASAP. Ejections do not carry suspensions and should allow the team to continue making their best effort to continue their playoff experience. 

Division 1 specific emphasis:
D1 players are allowed to maintain their time and space with and without the puck. If a collision occurs but both players are maintaining their time and space; this is allowed. If a player attempts to eliminate the opposing player by ways of the body or illegal restraining fowl; penalize accordingly. 

This will be printed and left in the penalty box and posted at the rink in multiple locations.
